Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger expects India to become the next big destination for players after China.


The Chinese Super League has been on an active signing spree of top players. Unlike other lesser-known leagues, China has had immense success largely because they have been throwing huge sums of money at the players. Oscar is one of the latest players to join Shanghai SIPG, and he is on a contract worth around £ 20 million per season. India, though, has tried growing football at a much more pace. Even the football has existed in India for several decades, it has never been as popular as cricket.

Now, though, India is trying to change the popularity stakes by introducing football to the 1 billion population through stars from the Bollywood and cricket. It has had a positive impact with the Indian Super League in its second season and already significantly popular than the first. Florent Malouda Scores 1st ISL Goals to Set up Impressive Win for Delhi Dynamos

Florent Malouda helped Delhi Dynamos secure an impressive 4-1 win over Chennaiyin after managing to score twice and assisting furthermore in the game.


It was quite easily the best performance from the Frenchman since he arrived at the Indian capital to play in the Indian Super League. Until now, he has struggled make the kind of impact that his talent would warrant. He has played 25 games in two campaigns with the club, but the Frenchman had yet to score a goal. Malouda would probably rank as one of the disappointing marquee signings in the ISL due to this record.

MALOUDA COMPARES POGBA TO BALE

The French professional footballer who operates as a left winger for Indian club, Delhi Dynamos spent most of his football career at Lyon and Chelsea, winning four consecutive Ligue 1 titles with the former and the UEFA Champions League in 2012 with the latter, including other trophies.


He has been playing international football since 2004 while having represented “Les Bleus” on 80 occasions, including in two World Cups and two European Championships. He was an impactful part of the French team which reached the 2006 FIFA World Cup final.

Florent Malouda Expected to Sign for Delhi Dynamos

Florent Malouda is expected to make his return to the Indian Super League after a highly successful debut season in the Indian subcontinent.

The Indian Super League was formed last year with the idea of promoting the game in the subcontinent to an even bigger level. The Premier league is one of the most watched sports in the region, but it still trails cricket by a long way. Recent foray by superstars like Florent Malouda and Nicolas Anelka has been expected to improve attention given to this sport. Former Chelsea player Florent Malouda returned to his former club Delhi Dynamos this season as the marquee signing, according to reports. The club has confirmed the deal for the forthcoming Indian Super League (ISL).

Malouda was welcomed with open arms, after his impressive time out on loan to the Egyptian Premier League club Wadi Degla FC. He enjoyed a stellar debut season with Dynamos as one of the high profile players to join the league.

RIISE JOINS MALOUDA IN INDIA

Former Liverpool player John Arne Riise has returned to play in the Indian Super League (ISL) after his stint alongside other experienced players at Delhi Dynamos in the last campaign.

The 35-year old said he hadn’t retired from club football and not leaving India despite the reports that he was done. Riise said he only took a break but was back to play.

FLUORENT MALOUDA SET TO HANG HIS BOOTS

Frechman Flourent Malouda is set to hang up his boots this coming season after he ended his deal with Egyptian club Wadi Degla FC.

The former Chelsea player who turned 36 in June this year has played in five different countries since starting his football career professionally in 1996. He started his career at LB Chateauroux after going through their youth team. He moved to Guingamp in 2000 before joining Olympique Lyon.

MORGAN GOULD TO JOIN OTHER BIG NAMES IN THE INDIAN LEAGUE

Morgan Gould is set to join other big names in the Indian League after being released in a massive players’ clear out by Kaizer Chiefs.

Gould was among the players that did not have their contract renewed at Kaizer Chiefs. The club did a 20-player clearout in a bid to reposition the club ahead of the new season.

FLORENT MALOUDA TALKS ABOUT THE RISE OF WADI DEGLA SC

UEFA Champions league winner with top English Premier League Chelsea FC, Florent Malouda talked about his experience at Egyptian outfit Wadi Degla SC since joining them in an interview with French website Football365.

Malouda who is 35 years old and most recently played for Indian club Delhi Dynamos in the Super League joined Egypt January this year, after a decent experience. When he joined the team they were just one point above the relegation zone in the Premier League, according to Malouda but after several more games since then, they rank third behind well known team with Zamalek in second place and Al Ahly leading the pack.
