HERCULES INTERESTED IN MALOUDA

Hercules are interested in signing Chelsea winger Florent Malouda for £7 million bid in the summer, according to reports

With Chelsea thought to be planning a shake-up of their ageing squad, the Frenchman could be one who is on his way out of Stamford Bridge, despite being a key figure for the Blues over the last few seasons.

Many have blamed the age of Carlo Ancelotti’s squad as a key reason behind their slump in form in recent months, and Malouda, 30, could now be the first of a number of the club’s players to face the exit door.

Florent Malouda has previously said that he would like to finish his career in Brazil.

MALOUDA ASKS FOR CONCENTRATION

Chelsea Whitfield a Florent Malouda has said that Chelsea should concentrate more against Bolton Wanderers and deliver the performance that is expected. It was Malouda who scored the only goal at Stamford Bridge to defeat Owen Coyle’s men when the sides met three weeks ago, and after failing to win against Aston Villa and Wolves in recent weeks, the winger is looking for the champions to finally put together a run of good results and performances.

“We needed that victory against Bolton and now we are playing them again so it would be a good time to score again that kind of goal because we really need a run of good performances,” Malouda told Chelsea TV.

MALOUDA READY FOR NEWCASTLE FIGHT

Chelsea star Florent Malouda says that he is ready for the Newcastle fight. The French flyer knows the hosts will be doing all they can to stop the Blues’ flowing passing game.

But he insists Carlo Ancelotti’s side can mix it with the best of them as they look to regain top spot.

Florent Malouda said: “[Their style] is not a problem. They are playing very well at home. Their recent game I’ve seen they scored a lot of goals from set plays.

“We have an experienced team and are ready for those big games. We must adapt to any opponent and try our best to win.”

MALOUDA COULD BE DROPPED

Florent Malouda could be dropped from the team that faces Blackburn Rovers due to his poor form. Drogba’s on-field relationship with strike partner Nicolas Anelka appears to have broken down, with the Ivory Coast hitman way short of his best and the French striker having scored just one Premier League goal since August.

With Florent Malouda also losing his way in front of goal, Chelsea’s misfiring forwards have contributed to the shocking run of 10 points from 11 games that has seen the champions plummet to fifth in the league.

Daniel Sturridge’s FA Cup double against Ipswich has propelled the England Under-21 man to the forefront of Ancelotti’s thoughts, with Drogba the shock potential casualty.

MALOUDA EXPLAINS FORM

Florent Malouda has explained the reasons for Chelsea’s poor run of form and puts it down to bad defending. The Blues led the Premier League for the first two months of the season before allowing Manchester United, Arsenal and Aston Villa to overtake them.

Despite still having conceded the least goals in the top flight, Florent Malouda believes the Blues’ main strength is no longer their defence. John Terry is no longer the player he once was.

“We have one of the most prolific attacks in the league, our main strength was our defence in the first part of the season and I think the reason why we drop is because we are not defending so well,” he told the club’s official website.

MALOUDA HOPES FOR CHELSEA RESPECT

Florent Malouda says that he expects other teams to respect Chelsea due to their killer instinct. “It is difficult to know why people think that Arsenal play the better football,” Florent Malouda said on a photoshoot for Chelsea Hospitality Packages.

“Even when we finished top, people still said Arsenal played better than us. But you are seeing an evolution since the manager [Carlo Ancelotti] came in. We are scoring more goals and keeping more clean sheets and that is what it is all about if you want to win the league.

MALOUDA DROPPED FROM FRENCH SQUAD

Laurent Blanc has dropped one of France’s talented player, Florent Malouda from the French squad for the upcoming international friendly. Blanc has succeeded the deposed and disgraced Raymond Domenech – the decision to appoint him was taken before the World Cup – and he hopes that the unprecedented move to impose the one-match suspension will also serve to draw a line under a controversy that has seen scorn heaped upon Les Bleus.

Blanc said upon his unveiling as Domenech’s replacement that he would bear no grudge against the 23 players, who collectively went on strike before the final group game against South Africa in protest at the decision of the France Football Federation to expel the striker Nicolas Anelka from the squad, after a furious dressing-room row with Domenech.
