This is one of the biggest matches of the season, while it is also the same for Chelsea. They have finished outside the top four for the first time since the arrival of owner Roman Abramovich. Hence, they will not be guaranteed Champions League football next season if they failed to win the trophy. However, if they win the trophy, then it could be the greatest ever season for the club because it will be the first European cup. Chelsea have failed to win the same, which has been the Holy Grail of owner Roman Abramovich ever since his arrival to West London nine years ago. Chelsea have four players suspended for the final including Ramires.

“We took him off as precaution. He has a tight hamstring so we will assess him but hopefully he will recover over the next day or so,” Chelsea interim manager Roberto di Matteo said after the match. The Italian also revealed that he is extremely confident that both defenders Gary Cahill and David Luiz will be fit for the final. They are the two remaining centre backs at the club who are eligible to play in the final. Both Branislav Ivanovic and John Terry are suspended for the final.
