Leicester Interested In Malouda

Leicester City are reportedly interested in bringing back Florent Malouda from the Turkish club, Trabzonspor. Malouda is a player of immense experience after having played a top-level football in French, English, and Turkish leagues. He will provide Leicester with the top-level experience that they require to survive in the Premier league. The club may have been promoted from the Championship with relative ease, but manager Nigel Pearson will be aware of the difficulties that his squad will face in the English top division.

After the end of last season, Pearson suggested that he was likely to retain faith in a number of players who were responsible for getting the club promoted. It also did not mean that Leicester would be inactive in the transfer window. Pearson appears to have stayed true to his word after the club recently broke their transfer record by bringing in Leonardo Ulloa from Brighton and Hove Albion for £ 7 million. A player like Malouda, though, will be an added bonus. During his six years at Chelsea, the former French international lifted the major trophy including the Premier League and the Champions League.

He was also part of World Cup’s with the French national team. As well as interest surrounding Malouda, it has also been revealed that Leicester are also looking to bring in Algerian striker Islam Slimani. He currently plays for Portuguese club Sporting Lisbon and it is believed that Leicester are ready to offer around £ 8 million for his services. A number of such top Premier league players from the past have been linked with a return in the last few weeks. Former Chelsea star Didier Drogba is reportedly on the verge of selling a return to Chelsea on a one-year contract.

The 36-year-old striker is a free agent after leaving Galatasaray last season.
