Francesco Totti is all set to retire after having played for just one club

Roma legend Francesco Totti is all set to retire after having played for just one club.

He is one of the few players in the world to hold the title of being a one club man. Totti represents more than just 20 years of service for Roma. He has been part of the club from the bottom and has helped them win numerous trophies in the last two decades. Hypothetically, the striker says that he would have been suited to any other Spanish club too because he feels that his style will settle well in Spanish football.

Spanish football is almost similar to Italian football but with a few differences. It is less tactical and there is also less time on the ball. However, Totti says that it is great entertainment to be part of the Spanish league. The 39-year-old was not as complimentary about the English Premier League, which he feels as being too physical for his liking. The Premier league has been loaded as one of the best in the world for the intense competition that exists throughout the league. In Spain, only two teams – Real Madrid and Barcelona – dominate proceedings for the majority of the campaign.

It is widely expected that Totti will announce his retirement in the next couple of years.”My style of play is very similar to the Spanish one. It’s more technical than physical when compared to the Premier League and Serie A.Compared with England, they tend to play more football in the Spanish league — it’s greater entertainment. You see that when you play there as an opponent. If you produce a piece of skill, they applaud you. The goal I scored at Real Madrid is my favourite goal in Europe,” said Totti, who has featured in only three games this season.
