Brazilian giants Fluminense are keen to tie down star striker after reports in Europe suggested Turkish club Trabzonspor are keen to bring the star of the Brazilian FIFA Confederations Cup team to the country for their upcoming UEFA Europa League campaign.

The Brazilian international has recently garnered a lot of interest from many of Europe’s big club including the likes of Manchester City and Juventus after the player finished as the top scorer for Brazil in the recently concluded FIFA Confederations Cup as he led the Canaries to their third consecutive victory in the tournament with five goals.

However, the Brazilian club is reluctant to part with one of their prized assets who joined the club from French powerhouse Lyon almost four years back now. According to a source within the club, the player has a very high buyout clause and the club is yet to receive any concrete interest from any club in the player, let alone Trabzonspor.

The source mentioned that the 29 year old is a very important player to the club and is a part of their plans for the future and the club is remaining calm amidst reports linking him with a move. Moreover, it has also been made clear that if it is left up to the board of the club, the player will leave if and only when he wants to.
Fred was the highest scorer for the club last season when he scored 20 goals in the Brazilian Serie A to lead the club to their fourth domestic title.

And Trabzonspor, who have already signed former Chelsea player Florent Malouda and Jose Bosingwa as they look forward to the UEFA Europa League campaign are looking to add a striker to their lineup and bolster their attacking options to help maintain the balance.
