The Chelsea players came into the match with an aggressive mind set and three goals were scored in the first 16 minutes of the match. Gary Cahill took Chelsea ahead in the 4th minute of the match. Juan Mata’s powerful shot was deflected into the net with a fantastic header by Cahill.

Ryan Bertrand doubled the lead of Chelsea just after four minutes. He flicked a well placed corner kick from Lucas Piazon into the bottom corner of the net to make the score 2-0.

It was Juan Mata who scored the third goal for Chelsea in the 16th minute. Fernando Torres set up the goal and Mata put the ball into the goal post with a cheeky shot. The ball went between the legs of the Wolves goalkeeper, Dorus de Vries. That was the last goal to be scored in the first half.

The Wolves continued to make mistakes in the second half. Chelsea earned a penalty in the 8th minute of the second half and it was wonderfully converted into goal by Oriol Romeu. De Vries dived to stop the ball, but, the shot was very powerful and it went past De Vries like a tracer bullet.

The score became 5-0 in the 58th minute. It was the carbon copy of the first goal, but, this time, it was Torres who headed Mata’s corner kick into the net. After that, it was a tall order for the Wolves to make a comeback.

Victor Moses was the one who put the final nail in the coffin by scoring the sixth goal for Chelsea in the 71st minute. There were only formalities left in the match after that. The Wolves could have restored some pride by scoring a goal. But, they failed in doing so and suffered a humiliating defeat.
