Former Olympique Lyon and Chelsea midfielder, Florent Malouda, has scored again while in action for struggling Egyptian side, Wadi Degla.

The 35-year old attacking midfielder who has continued to play active football despite aging scored his third straight goal for the club in the Egyptian League.

The left winger who last played for the French national team in 2012, signed with Wadi Degla this season from Indian Super League side Delhi Dynamos, where he had been since August 2015. He joined up with fellow Frenchman, Patrice Carteron, who became the club’s manager earlier in January. His current contract with the Egyptian side will lapse this summer but he has started living up to his billing.

Malouda, who played Chelsea from 2007 to 2013, has earned 80 France caps and scored nine international goals. He scored in the games against Enppi FC in the Egyptian League as Wadi Degla won by a two goal margin.

The player who rotates between attacking midfield, left wing and central midfield scored his second straight goal against El Shorta in the same Egyptian League.

He scored his most recent goal, making it the third this season for the Egyptian club, in the game against El Makasa. His lone goal separated both sides. The match also marked his eight straight 90 minute game that he has played for the club in the Egyptian League this season.

Wadi Degla rose up to the eight spot with the victory. The team has now earned 38 points from 24 matches played this season. This leaves the team three points away from Smouha in third place and four pints from second-placed Zamalek in a bid to qualify for continental tournaments next season. Al Ahly are far away from the rest having garnered 53 points from 23 games in the league.
